Instagram

Foto Friday - A chance to share photos of what I've been up to during the past week.

I've recently become a member of Instagram and I'm having great fun snapping away and taking part in the "Photo a Day" challenges. If you have Instagram, leave me your username in a comment below, or find me @youlookwellnice. (I really need to find a new username, I've been using that one since I was at school and most people think it's some form of chat up line rather than a line from one of my favourite songs...)

Top:
1 - My current favourite outfit! I snapped up this gorgeous dress when Sainsburys had one of their 25% off sales on. I hate going to Sainsburys, it's always so busy and I end up panicking, but I've found Saturday evening is usually quite quiet so Mum accompanies me over for a little browse. The cardigan was thrifted for £1 and the belt was in yet another sale last year for £2.
2 - Lisa (my therapist) is always encouraging me to practice mindfulness. Be it with chanting or breathing, she just wants me to try harder with it. So I've recently developed a little hobby in walking around our village with my Mum and my camera. I've found you notice so many more things when you look at them through a viewfinder. I've probably driven past this sign a hundred times in my life, but never really stopped to pay it any attention.
3 - On the way home from our village stroll, we cut through the park to avoid the busy roads. As it was school time, it was empty so I took the opportunity to go in the play section and have a go on one of the swings. I hadn't been on one in years and I'd forgotten how sick they make me feel. Here's a midair shot of me whizzing through the air.

Middle:
1- My beautiful rabbit Fudge (aka Nommy!) playing in the conservatory.
2 - The Instagram logo <3
3 - This is Tilly. When I was 9, we lived in a small maisonette in a different part of town and she lived next door to us with her owners, Mark and Jenny. When we moved away, I was heartbroken we had to leave her behind. But a year or so later, she and her owners moved into the house opposite my Gran's! She still remembers me to this day (10 years on) and bounds across the road to rub against our legs. She's lost her "miaow" but she still tries to say hello and a tiny little squeak will sometimes come out. She's so gorgeous, I think this is the best photo I've ever taken of her!

Bottom:
1 - Say hello to Hector! I don't think there's anything better than having a little pet to look after and talk to when you're not feeling 100%. We got him when he was just 2 weeks old so he's grown up used to being handled and fussed over. He's developed a little trick now where he'll hide all of his chocolates in his pouches then pretend he's not had any in an attempt to con you out of more. Luckily, we've got wise to him ;)
2 - This was on another one of my little walks around the village with Mum. I found these flowers in the graveyard and they just looked so beautiful. It always amazes me, how something so beautiful and living can thrive among the dismal grey tombs of the dead.
3 - Finally, here's a shot of the lantern outside the local church door. I only noticed this by practising my mindfulness and every time we go to the church yard, I always try and get a better photo of it. It's so high up and on a funny angle, but I'm really pleased with this one. I hope it's never fixed, I like it's battered old charm!

So, there's my week in pictures! What have you been up to this week?
Are you taking part in any "Photo a day" challenges?

Love always,
Jemma Maeve x
